Christmas at Walby Farm Park

Tickets are selling fast for this year’s magical festive farm experience at the award-winning Walby Farm Park with some dates already sold out!

The popular Christmas extravaganza, which opened on Saturday 25th November, attracts both locals and tourists with ‘Father Christmas on the Farm’ being the headline event.

Walby – Cumbria Tourism’s ‘Large Visitor Attraction of the Year 2023’ – has been transformed into a winter wonderland complete with real reindeer, an immersive, interactive Enchanted Forest, and Elves’ Toyshop.

As part of the experience, Father Christmas will take time to meet, talk to, and be photographed with every child before giving each child a golden coin, which they magically exchange for a gift in the Elves’ Toyshop.

Visitors start the experience at Passport Control before wandering through the snowy woodland and enjoying some snow time fun. A Naughty and Nice machine will reveal who’s been on their best behaviour with all the family – big and small – encouraged to enter before meeting Father Christmas himself. There’s also the chance to make gingerbread biscuits and reindeer food to take home for Christmas Eve, and make a teddy bear at the Teddie-Tastic interactive show. Adults can also savour a warming mulled wine, and don’t forget to grab a selfie with a snowman.

All visitors will enjoy an adventure-packed full day out exploring more than 10 interactive festive experiences and other festive surprises. Plus there’s the usual indoor and outdoor adventure play areas including Milecastle 62 Roman Fort, and The Cowshed Café will be selling festive food and drink.

Katie Milbourn, Owner of Walby Farm Park, said: “Father Christmas on the Farm is definitely one of our favourite events of the year. It takes a lot of planning and a lot of hard work to turn the farm into a winter wonderland, but it’s worth it as soon as we see the first excited faces arrive – and that’s not just the children’s!

“As always at Walby, we love to do things a bit differently. So don’t expect to be here for half an hour to see Father Christmas – make sure you come prepared to enjoy a full day of festive adventures! There’s so much to see, do, and be entertained by, and we guarantee lots of fun, laughter, and maybe even a few surprise treats for all the family.”

‘Father Christmas on the Farm’ runs every weekend from Saturday 25th November and also on weekdays during Christmas week from Wednesday 20th December to Christmas Eve. Pre-booking via the website is essential with limited tickets available per day. All Christmas activities, Adventure Play Barn, Milecastle 62, and outdoor play areas (weather dependent) are included in the ticket price. Child tickets start from £31.45 (under 1’s £12.45 with gift) and adult tickets from £18.50 for all day entry.

For an extra special Christmas gift for fun-loving children, a Walby Farm Park Annual Pass gives access to adventure 362 days out of 365, working out from just £1.40 a week for the entire year. Annual passes can be bought online here
