Walby Farm Park is the place to be for bucket loads of fun inside and out, delicious homemade food, a bit of retail therapy in the gift shop, and – best of all – the chance to make a magical connection with animals.
You’ll encounter farmyard favourites and rare breeds – cute and cuddly, big and small. Our fun and interactive sessions include meet the rabbits and guinea pigs, pony grooming, sheep racing, ferret racing, hand feeding and milking demonstrations. The Animal Paddocks and Animal Barn are full of interesting finds and there’s plenty of information to help visitors of all ages learn as they go.
There’s acres of room to let off steam – 30 to be exact – and rain or shine we have indoor and outdoor options to keep all ages entertained.
OUR INDOOR ADVENTURE PLAY BARN – is open (a bit different in August 2020, without ball pools and shapes), dedicated area for littlies, and the 24-foot Demon Drop Slide (for daring adults as well as children!) to the huge range of options outside – including our JCB Diggers, pedal Tractors, Swings, Trampolines and Go-Karts – you really can spend a full day playing!
Don’t forget to look out for Custard the Cow, our friendly mascot, who is always ready to give you a warm Walby Farm Park welcome!
For 2020 – our NEW under-cover attraction, Milecastle 62! Milecastle 62 is a three-level Roman fort that is fully covered to withstand any Cumbrian storm that comes our way. Did you know we are located on the line of Hadrian’s Wall between Milecastle 62 and Milecastle 63? During the Roman Empire Milecastles were built to control people passing from one side of the wall to the other. Our Milecastle 62 attraction recreates the history of the site in a fun, interactive play experience for little ones of all ages and abilities.
Clamber the wooden walls and there is so much to explore:
- Climb ropes and slopes to the top turrets
- Balance along tree trunk beams
- Descend to ground level by slide or pole
- Dare to crawl through the top-level transparent tunnel
- Plus so much more!
There is also a fully accessible ramp up to the main Milecastle LXII structure and lookout point.
Designated Under 3s Area – Milecastle’s neighbouring Barbarian Village is the perfect place for pre-schoolers to let off steam! Tucked around the side of our Animal Barn, with seating also provided, it’s the ideal spot for youngsters to play under the watchful eye of parents.
